Lawrence Choo is the Head of Group Financial Markets & Technology Compliance at Maybank Group, where he spearheads the development and implementation of market surveillance and control room policies, systems, and processes. He provides expert compliance advice to the Group on financial markets, capital and liquidity management, and technology. Prior to joining Maybank, Lawrence held the position of Global Head of Trade Surveillance at Standard Chartered Bank, overseeing the implementation of trade surveillance strategies to ensure compliance with market regulations, including the European Union's Market Abuse Regulation. Lawrence brings a unique blend of investigative and enforcement expertise to his role, gained from his multiple years of service in the Singapore Police Force's Commercial Affairs Department, the Competition Commission of Singapore, and the Singapore Exchange (SGX).
